Week 4 - preparing to play!

NERVOUS ALREADY! I almost puked already last Friday when I thought of the upcoming scrimmage. I need an attitude! But instead I'm a nervous shy HUGE mouse. And broke by the way. I used my money for a good cause: holiday in Tenerife. Then I lost some money: holiday days cut down from my salary, first invoice from drivers club (YES - INDEED, I started driving lessons!) and of course I'm paying my student loan. Haahaa, still I went to the hairdressers, bought candy from Brunberg, ate sushi for lunch and went grocery shopping even though I promised to eat every single conserves at home first. Now I'm making salmon in the oven and I've got some nuts to take with me on our way to scrimmage. Now I'll promise again not to go grocery shopping until next week!

Bout of Thrones: Tenerife Roller Derby vs Roller Derby Porto
I'm taking it easy again. I want to save some energy for the scrimmage and after that I'll have some short period of lifting my workouts up.

I'm quite lost what we did on which days in Tenerife, but we DID DO SOME SPORTS TOO! We played volleyball in the beach twice, some 2 hours sessions. Then we trek to a small mountain on one day, went bowling and did long walks too. Oh yeah and went skating too! Though it was not a success, the pavement was too rough and small difficult plates everywhere, no normal asphalt pavements in the whole neighborhood. In Santa Cruz there would have been a great long route, but we were there to see the bout and didn't have our skates with us.

I LOVE BANANA SPLIT!
I'm still somewhat trying to keep up with normal busy paced life. Help!

Week 2 - running for a holiday

I went running yesterday before a yoga lesson and it was a good combo once again. I think the flu still affects my balance or then I was just otherwise unable to concentrate but it went good. So much stretching, loved it. This is what I've planned for this week, quite a busy beginning but then... COMES HOLIDAY! We're leaving to Tenerife! We have planned to do some sports there too, but we'll see... I'm gonna relax yeaaapp!

My first week was relaxed and I'm quite happy with it. This really feels like a new beginning, not just rushing into full speed workouts despite my flu and need for holidays. This rate is quite good! I want to be up and running with energy when we hit our first scrimmage ever in less than a month.

Gloom

Hi guys! I've been taking it easy as I promised! I still have a bit of a flu so I haven't done any workouts, except our first practice on Tuesday. It was so great, awesome! And somehow I hadn't lost my ability to skate, it was almost the break never happened. Actually this fresh start taught me already. The push and pull doing crossovers really clicked in my head this time. I feel like I'm gonna make it work in near future. So excited! Now I'm waiting forward to our practice on Sunday. Yesterday I had to skip practice because of work stuff.

I need to buy more lemons, I need this tea right now.

Week 1 - take two!

So did I reach all my goals last year? Nope. But did make some progress? Yep! This spring is all about taking my time and more about game prospects. PRD has already booked two scrimmages both within a couple of months. Our first scrimmage as a team ever is coming up in less than a month and that is awesome! This is also why the quality of workout is more essential than the quantity. Just like before running a marathon you need to save some of that energy before the actual leap. I've done quite a good job around Christmas break and found again a new course for workouts. SURPRISING! I'm keen on getting bored after a while so the break was a good way to renew my routines.

So what have I been doing? Only what I've felt like doing. My love has grown towards yoga and bodybalance during the break and that's something I've done a lot. Both at the gym and at home. Also RVP has again gotten a place in my heart and with great relief I can say that this combination has TOTALLY and UTTERLY taken my buttock pains away! There's not even the smallest trace of the pain. That also led me making some progress in bodypump and upgrading my squat weights to 8,5 kg a head! How about that! All this in just three weeks! I'm throwing hats in the air.

I've also done running, gym, indoor cycling, bodypump, dancing and last but not least: just taken my time on the sofa reading.

This is what I've been reading
So be patient with me on spring season. I'm not gonna be a racket and all high fly but more like meditating this winter away with some awesome workouts. Slow curing start it is to be, I'm all excited about our practice tomorrow and how my body responds to it!
